The basic components of the floppy disk drive includes a read/write head assembly, which detects and alters the data on the recording medial using a bias coil in the read/write head. Also included is the spindle and motor assembly which spins the recording disk for access by the read/write head. The other main component of the floppy disk drive is the circuit board, with the support circuitry which regulates the functions of the other components.
